                                     *SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS / ALTERATIONS:

 

            ***Most of the cards and projects we do are primarily for the female gender and I wanted to do one that was a bit more on the masculine side. In retrospect, I should have used a timepiece instead of the bezel on the card to achieve this but the bezel matched so well I just had to use it. J  So I stuck a timepiece on the box lid. Now it's masculine! LOL

            On the inside of card I tore the edges of the script paper by hand, painted the edges with LEMON JUICE and burnt them with my heat gun to give it a distressed look. My good friend and fellowess :) designer, Carol Masterson, told me about this application a while back and I decided to try it out and it came out beautifully. Thank you, Miss Carol!!!

            I then used my Distress Inks to smear over the script and then applied the heat gun to alter the background color of the paper. I fell in love with the effect it gave.

           All in all it was an amazingly fun card to make… I want to do more of these…

            Becca Feeken's 'Filigree Gift Box Tutorial' inspired me to try this out and I fell in love with it.

            I used a craft roller to apply the “Picket Fence Distress Paint” to the embossed panel on the front and back of the box.

             Such a simple and fun gift box set that is quick and easy to make. It will be great for Christmas or any occasion... And the Marianne Creatables "Vintage Parasol" is the perfect fit!!!

                                      *SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS / ALTERATIONS:

I hung the bezel with the 1/8” ribbon threaded through the eyelets at each end and then knotted.

The white tassel I stained with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

The label on the inside of the card was distressed with the Lemon Juice and a heat gun. No Distress Ink was used yet I got the same effect. Pretty neat, huh?

 

 

 

 

                                                            LAST BUT NOT LEAST

 

*I saved my very favorite for last. There are a lot of pictures for this card and box but there is also a lot of activity going on with it. Even though it is not a quick card to make, it is easy and well worth the time it takes to give something extra special to that extra special person in your life.
